For You, With Nothing in Return

For You, With Nothing in Return

Some people…
they enter your life once,
and even if they leave,
they never really go.
I don’t want anything from you.
Not your time, not your love,
not a promise, not even a glance back.
You were there… and you still are.
And that’s enough for me.
You’re not my “if.”
You’re my “just because.”
I didn’t love you because you were mine,
I loved you because you were you.
And your smile…
it felt like sunlight on a cold night.
Just the thought of you is enough
to keep my heart warm and beating.
Why chase presence,
when memories bloom brighter than reality?
I’m in the kind of love
that asks for no answers.
Every day, I whisper your name
and tell myself,
“Your existence was more than enough.”
You, just the way you were
you were perfect to me.
You came into my life like a falling star,
something I never wished for,
but still lit up my sky.
People ask me
“Do you still love her?”
I smile and say,
“Yes… with every breath.”
Then comes the next question
“But you’re not even with her anymore.”
And I smile again…
because I never needed to be with her.
I just needed to love her.
And I still do…
quietly, completely, endlessly.
I love her now just as much
as I did when I couldn’t even say it out loud.
And now…
I say it every day in silence,
not for me,
but for her.
Some love stories fall apart while holding hands,
and some become whole… even after falling apart.
You’re my unfinished completeness.
You’re the most beautiful “thank you” to all my “what ifs.”

"Some people leave,
but the love they gave us… stays.
And sometimes, that's all we ever needed
a heart that still smiles,
even when the person is gone."
